Modernising an Office Building’s Heating and Cooling System with ECO-TEC Heat Pumps

As energy efficiency and comfort become priorities, modernising heating and air-conditioning systems is increasingly important. We recently had the opportunity to transform an office building’s thermal infrastructure with a modern, efficient and sustainable solution.

The challenge: An old, inefficient installation

The building relied on a radiator-based heating system that, due to age and poor efficiency, could no longer deliver the comfort its occupants needed. The owner wanted a solution providing heating in winter and air conditioning in summer without excessive energy consumption.

The solution: ECO-TEC heat pumps and fan coil units

To meet this requirement, we installed two high-efficiency ECO-TEC heat pumps designed for excellent performance and using the refrigerant R290. They can provide high supply-water temperatures for winter heating and operate efficiently in cooling mode during summer.

Because the previous radiator installation was not suitable for the required combined heating and cooling design, we replaced it with fan coil units. These distribute heat evenly in winter and provide effective cooling in summer, improving comfort for people working in the building.

After installation, we commissioned the system and tested it under different operating conditions. The result? A fully operational, energy-efficient and highly versatile system.
