COST AND CONFIGURATION

How much does a heat pump system cost?

The real cost of a heat-pump system is not simply the price of the outdoor unit. Required capacity, domestic-hot-water cylinder, buffer vessel, circulation pumps, hydraulic components and installation can materially change the total investment.

What is included in a complete system?

A complete installation may include the heat pump, domestic-hot-water cylinder, buffer vessel where required, circulation pumps, filters, valves, safety components, antifreeze, outdoor supports, controls and installation work. Some buildings already contain suitable components while others require an almost complete new hydraulic system.

Heating capacity directly affects the budget

A larger heat pump is not automatically better. Selection should start from the real design heat loss of the building. A well-insulated home can require significantly less capacity than an older building with the same floor area. Unnecessary oversizing increases investment and may reduce seasonal operating quality.

Radiators, underfloor heating or fan coils?

The heat-emitter system influences both equipment selection and electricity consumption. Underfloor heating normally operates at lower water temperatures. Existing radiators should be evaluated against building heat demand and the water temperature at which they can deliver the required output.

What makes a price comparison meaningful?

Prices should be compared for the same technical scope. An equipment-only quote cannot be directly compared with a complete solution including sizing, hydraulic components, installation, commissioning and technical support.

How can you estimate the budget before requesting a quote?

Start with design heat demand, the existing heating system, domestic-hot-water requirements and whether cooling is required. These inputs allow a realistic base configuration to be developed before final technical verification.

Frequently asked questions

Can I buy only the heat pump?

Yes, but the existing hydraulic system must be checked for compatibility and for all required safety and control components.

Is a higher-capacity system always more expensive?

Larger equipment generally costs more, but the complete configuration determines the final investment.

Is a domestic-hot-water cylinder mandatory?

Not in every project. It is required when the heat pump is expected to produce domestic hot water through a dedicated storage cylinder.

Is a buffer tank always necessary?

No. The requirement depends on water volume, hydraulic configuration, emitters and control strategy.

Can the final system price be calculated online?

Online tools can estimate capacity and consumption. A final installed price requires a project-specific component list and installation scope.
